Be Not Empty In The Highest Hour

Be not empty in the highest hour
When called upon to earn your wage
Or you will be just a broken power
Left quivering on an an open stage.
The audience will chatter riot
Out in short to burst their cage
And pulverize a pulp gone sour
And smear it on the program's page -
Where you will surely rot through to cower
For a tiny morsel of some pay.
And if you live perchance through that debut
You will surely die by the art review.

So be not empty in the highest hour
When called upon to earn your wage
Or you will be just a broken tower
Collapsing on an open stage.
