I Cannot Give You The Certainty Of Every Day

I cannot give you the certainty of every day,
Of rigid routine and standard pay,
Of  timetables of expected dates
And milestones that do not stray
From the public opinion of life in the expected way.
My moments flutter like butterflies on air,
Hither and thither, here and there,
Sometimes planned sometimes unprepared
This journey of life may take us anywhere.
But I can promise you that even
If we enter the most silent of streets,
If pangs of hunger clamour our feet,
We will go forward without retreat,
Hand in hand, heartbeat for heartbeat.
