I Fear One Day

I fear one day if God should burn this land
And all the sinners perished in its flames
Not one I know would escape the devil's blame
Not one I know would stake another's claim.

And I have feared in my open heart
That all I do shall never be enough
To vanquish all the vices' legions ruled
By the senses in their evergrasping clutch.

But on this day bless me to start anew
Unsheath my actions alone in servitude to you
Blow off the dust of Maya from my eyes
To see the splendor of all things without disguise.
