The One

Come be my love through tumultuous solitude
Dark depths of hope and dead droughts of gratitude
Through bare blanks of skies seen dreary eyed
Life’s canvas torn and thrown aside.
And I will welcome you with open arms when I smile
And you will know that I have loved you all the while.
Without you seconds pierce their arrows through my heart
Depart and there is no life with this love apart.
I came to you muddy with the dirt of days
And you washed off my unwanton ways
And gushed forth as my fountain of youth,
My fountain of hope, my fountain of truth,
To drown the calls of the temptress beckons,
Slithering sins of sensuous seconds,
That epe through lands littered in broken wedding bands
That we walk through together clasping hands.
And I know that without you there is no peace of way,
Life is a warred confusion that murders days,
So let us make sense of these cycling moons and suns
Promise forever that you are the one.
